This song was the title track and second single from the debut LP "Perfect View" but failed to chart. In 1991, the band was dropped by their record company, at which point Meredith Brooks left to pursue a solo career. She was replaced by former House Of Schock member Chrissy Shefts, but just as they were about to be signed to a new record deal in 1992, Gia Ciambotti was offered a job in Bruce Springsteen's band and the group officially called it quits. Caffey formed another group in the mid-nineties called 'Astrid's Mother' (her daughter Astrid had been born in 1995) but the band proved to be short-lived. During the time that they were together, The Country Cousins managed to create a few original songs. The coolest thing is they all couldn't read a single note of sheet music, and were self-taught, as my dad and my other uncles were too. On the tape reel, there are are four original instrumentals and a song written, most likely, by my Uncle Jimmy (the actual paper is forever lost, so all that we have of the lyrics is the chorus and a second verse on the tape). This is the third of the intrumentals, and has a somewhat similar melody to The Beach Boys' "409". On my parents' cassette copy, this was cut off around midway, and I thought that that was all that existed of it. Recently I borrowed the original cassette, that the reel was transferred to, from my Aunt Gail (my Uncle Jimmy's widow). As a total surprise, and with thanks to the new stereo I have (has a built-in CD burner), the song on CD, completely intact. I want to also note that the second picture is taken from a video my aunts had made when I was four, and was shot with my digital camera from my TV screen. If I can find out who owns the original snapshot, I will redo the video, so everyone can see it better. Enjoy!
